Funeral services were held Sun day, February 15 at 3 o'clock for Mrs. Lou Stubbs, 86, who died Saturday, after only a few hours illness. Rev. M. F. Lytle of Magee officiating, assisted by Rev. C. C. Jones, Mendenhall, Rev. Tom White, Puckett, and Rev. Lintor of Antioch Church. Interment was in Sharon Cemetery.
Mrs. Stubbs was a former resident of near Magee, moving to Laurel, three years ago. She was living at the time of her passing with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Hob Dollar. She was the wife of the late P. B. Stubbs of Magee. She was a member of Antioch Methodist Church.
She is survived by six children Mrs. Mamie Hughes, Braxton; John Lyons, Magee; George, Jackson; W. F. Mendenhall; Mrs. Ben Everett, Magee; Mrs. Hob Dollar, Laurel. Five step children, Mrs. Charlie Maddox, Magee; Mrs. Henry L, Mangum, Eudor, Ark.; Mrs. W. T. Martin, Trussie Stubbs and Joe Stubbs, Magee. One sister, Mrs. Sadie Vaughn, of Bogalusa, La. A brother John Lang, Meridian; E. M. Lang, Gilmer, Tex.; several grand, and great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
Pall bearers were: Rey. Clarence Hughes, Perry Everett, Charlie Hearn, W. T. Martin, Jr., Carlon Lyons, and Bill Graham.
Honorary pall bearers were: Wilkin Mangum, Walter Kennedy, Mendenhall ; Dallas Kennedy, Gatha Johnson, Chester Ates, Magee; G. C. Hearn, Laurel, Lonnie Hughes, Braxton.
