Charles Ray Raney, 68, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013 in Fort Worth, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, July 20, 2013 in the chapel at Dutton Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at Highland Cemetery under the direction of Dutton Funeral Home in Iowa Park.

Charles was born September 17, 1944 in Olney, Texas to Floyd and Imogene (Alexander) Raney. He lived in the Wichita Falls area for over 50 years, in California for 10 years, and lived for 2 years in Fort Worth, near his children. He worked for 25 years as a Correctional Officer for the Texas Department of Corrections, retiring from the James V. Allred Unit in Wichita Falls.

Charles is preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Raney and Imogene Longan; wife, JoAnn Raney; and son, James Raney Dickerson.

Surviving relatives include his son, Mike Raney of Grand Prairie, Texas; daughter, Latonya Jordan of Fort Worth, Texas; two sisters, Shirley Rinehart and Jody Berryman, both of Holliday, Texas; one brother, Fred Raney of Wichita Falls, Texas; 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held from 6 PM to 8 PM on Friday, July 19, 2013 at the funeral home.
