Farmer and Merchant (Aylesworth Livestock Sales). Elected as Councilor/Deputy Reeve/Reeve of Kingston Township from 1920 to 1940. Initially ran in the Federal By-Election for Frontenac—Addington riding in 1934 but was defeated. Ran in the next Federal Election, Elected Member of Parliament for Frontenac—Addington Riding for "The National Government" in 1940, Then as a Member of the Progressive Conservative Party 1945 and 1949. Was defeated in the next election in 1953 for the riding of Kingston.
