Lifelong Yukon resident Nancy Spangler lost her short but courageous battle with a rare form of uterine cancer Tuesday, July 19.
She was born Sept. 3, 1941, in Shamrock to Geraldine (King) and Leo Likens.
Nancy married Harold Spangler in 1960. They were eternal newly weds for 45 years.
She graduated in 1968 with a license of practical nursing degree and worked at South Community Hospital for 20 years as an LPN.
She was a charter member of the bingo association. Preceding her in death are her parents, an infant brother and grandmother King.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Spangler of the home; four children, Sheri Cowan and Phil Pratt of Mustang, Kelly and Linda Spangler of Oklahoma City, Paula and Bill Staudt of Okmulgee, Scott and Sheila Spangler of Yukon; nine grandchildren, Nickolas Cowan, Brittney and Jake Richardson, Adam Spangler, Nancy Kay, Robyn and William Staudt, Christopher, Cody and Collin Spangler; two great-grandchildren, Lindsey and Austin Cowan; four siblings, Judy and Bill Anderson, Sue and Leroy Batt, Jerry and Francis Leyerly, Danny and Jill Likens, as well as many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Hospital in Memphis, Tenn.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Trinity Baptist Church, Yukon. Burial will follow at Yukon Cemetery under the direction of Yanda & Son Funeral Home, Yukon.
