He was born in Comanche County, Texas, on the 10th day of the 10th month of the year 1936, the 10th child of Clayte and Mamie (Taylor) Evans. Jesse was a well known cook in Comanche. He was a Baptist.
He is survived by sister, Mary Gilliam and husband Doug of Comanche; brother, Bobby Evans of Longview; and many, many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers.
Graveside service: 10:30 a.m. Friday in Downing Cemetery. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Comanche Funeral Home.
