Mr. Dyer had worked for Smith Brothers Home Improvement, Richards Homes and later retired from Honey Baked Ham. He was a member and deacon of Mt. Carmel Methodist Church.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Grace Stone; brother, Bryan Dyer and a granddaughter, Bethany Walker.
Survivors include his wife, Clara Potts Dyer; children, Terry Dyer of Carrollton, Cindy & Tony Thompson of Temple, Tammy Walker of Carrollton and Kristy & Lee Parrish of Woodland, AL.; sisters, Betty & Bobby Jacobs of Carrollton, Judy & Lamar Johnson of Temple; brother, Render Dyer of Carrollton; grandchildren, Chasity Walker, Cody Walker, Corey Burson, Kimberly & Justin McGatha, Kayla Parrish and Kaleb Parrish; one great grandson, Lucas McGatha; also surviving are a host of nieces and nephews.
