Sarah was the daughter of Gouveneur and Frances Hunt Morris. Both of her parents were born at Vermont. Sarah was the wife of Col. Ira Humphrey. She was 80 years old at the time of her death.
*SARAH MORRIS HUMPHREY - DIED - At her home in the township of Raisinville, Monroe County, Sarah Morris Humphrey, after a lingering illness, peacefully past to her last rest, at midday, February 27th, 1924, at the age of eighty years. She was the only daughter of the late Judge Gouveneur Morris, and the wife of Col. Ira G. Humphrey. Was born at Brest, five miles north of the city of Monroe and was the only living person born on the Old Turnpike, now the Dixie Highway, at the time the former was opened. Mrs. Humphrey leaves a son by a former marriage. Funeral services will be held at the Morris Vault in Woodland Cemetery, Friday afternoon at three o'clock. Rev. Charles O'Meara will officiate.
