Joseph E Ingram,
enlisted in the Confederate States Army at Henderson County, Texas on April 1 of November, 1861 and was mustered into service at Madisonville Texas on the 1 of November, 1861, as a private of Company F, Col. Balis Regiment, Texas under Captain B. F. Jordan. Served until discharge, 20 of May of 1865 at Richmond State of Texas "on account of war being over". Joseph Ingram lived and died in Barry, Texas.
Joseph's G-Grandaughter Pam added:
Joseph's wife Sara lost a brother in the Civil War. I have several letters that he wrote home that I cherish. In one he asks Sara where Joseph is and if he had joined up. He (the brother) died at Gaines Mills in Virginia. He was 17. Joseph moved to Texas Between 1850 and 1860 living in the Deen Hotel in Henderson County. After the war was over, on July 25, 1865, he married Sara Ascenith Owen at Athens, Henderson Co. Texas.
