Lisa graduated from Ludington High School with the Class of 1982 and attended Davenport University graduating in 1991 with a BA in accounting.
Lisa married Mitchell Harold Oakes on September 10, 1988 at St. Simon Catholic Church in Ludington.
She was employed as an Eligibility Specialist with the Department of Human Services working for the State of Michigan for over 20 years.
Lisa is survived by her husband: Mitchell Oakes, daughter: Terra (Adam) Lucas, father: James (Loretta) Traeger, mother: Rosemary (Albert) Simmons, brothers: Michael Traeger, Tony (Kelly) Simmons, Frank (Diana) Traeger, Chester (Sheila) Simmons, sisters: Amanda (Baz) Davis, Rita (Ben) Kettle, Alice Anderson, Anita Simmons, along with many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She is preceded in death by her son: Derek Charles Oakes, and sister: Melissa Simmons.
The family will receive friends at the church beginning 1 hour prior to the service.
A funeral mass from the Order of Christian Funerals will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 15, 2013 at St. Simon Catholic Church in Ludington with Father Wayne Wheeler officiating.
Burial will take place at Pere Marquette Cemetery in Ludington. The family has entrusted funeral arrangements with Oak Grove Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Ludington
