C. Kenneth Mooney, 88, of Whitehall, died Tuesday, July 16, 2013, in his home.


He was born August 11, 1924, in Waynesburg, a son of the late William Stanford Mooney and Ida Rose Mooney.


Mr. Mooney was married to Ruth Ann Mason Mooney, who died June 27, 2004.


He was a retired heavy equipment operator and repairman for Anthony Crane Rental and Maxim Crane.


He also worked on the family farm in Waynesburg.


Mr. Mooney served with the US Army in the Pacific during WW II and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars.


He was a longtime resident of the Baldwin-Whitehall area. He was a member of Fairall United Methodist Church in Waynesburg and a former member of the Pittsburgh Baptist Church.


Surviving is two sons, a grandson, of St. Petersburg, Fla.; three brothers, and a sister, of Waynesburg.


Deceased are two brothers, Robert Mooney and James Mooney, and two sisters, Alene Luzadder and Helen Husk.


Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, July 19.


Interment will follow in Fairall Cemetery, Whiteley Township.
