Known as Nannie by her family and friends, she married a young A.R.P. minister, Samuel Andrew Agnew, on the 21st day of April 1864. Rev. Samuel Agnew was the pastor of the Old Bethany A.R.P. Church in Baldwyn, Lee County, Mississippi. Nannie and Samuel had two sons, Enoch David (name for his two grandfathers) and John Calvin (named for the famed Protestant reformer).
Sadly, Nannie Elizabeth McKell Agnew died on the 24th of July 1868, while visiting her mother in Starkville at the young age of 26 years old. Nannie was buried in Starkville A.R.P. cemetery near her father.

Agnew, aged 26 years, 9 months and 17 days.... born in Oktibbeha County, Miss.… She leaves a husband, Reverend Samuel A. Agnew, D.D., two infant sons, a pious mother, brothers and sisters."
