Mr. Sanders, a native of Sumter, had lived in Aiken since 1953.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, and had retired from DuPont Corp. as a mechanic. He was a member of Aiken Masonic Lodge No. 156 Accepted and Free Masons, Aiken York Rite, Scottish Rite and the Jamel Temple of Columbia.
Survivors include his wife, Imogene M. Sanders; a daughter, Debbie Davis, New Ellenton; four brothers, Colclough Sanders, Rembert, Elijah Sanders Jr., Dalzell, Frasier Sanders, Newberry, and Furman Sanders, Fayetteville, N.C.; a sister, Cecelia Burgess, Darlington; and two grandchildren.
