CASTLE DALE – Mavis Deanne Jones Stone, age 68, passed away June 17, 2013. Mavis was born July 11, 1944 in Blanding, Utah to Lloyd and Margie Black Jones. She married Mike Stone on November 18, 1962.

Her hobbies included fishing, quilting, taking pictures, gardening in vegetable and flower gardens, hiking, and bird watching. She also enjoyed talking to people, but what she loved the most was being with family.

Mavis is survived by her husband, Mike; two children, Todd (Sherrie) Stone of Gillette, Wyoming, and Tina (Chris) Petersen of Stockton, Utah; two siblings, David (Dalegene) Jones of Castle Dale and Kate (Rick) Keele of Price; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd and Margie Black Jones.

Funeral services will be held Friday June 21, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Fausett Mortuary in Castle Dale (720 North Center Street). There will be a viewing Friday at the mortuary at 10:00 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will be at 3:00 p.m. at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Moab, Utah (2651 Spanish Valley Drive). Services are in the care of Fausett Mortuary. Family and friends may sign the guest book and share memories of Mavis at www.fausettmortuary.com.
