Viola Jessie Conklin was born
May 20, 1875, in Butler county,
Iowa. She was the oldest of a
family of five children, two of which
survive her, David L. Conklin of
Gann Valley, South Dakota, and
Ruby A. Rust of Newell. She leaves
to mourn her loss her husband and
her son, Alvia L. Haines, of Des
Moines.
In 1879 Mrs. Haines moved with
her parents to Newell, where she
resided until her death. She was
united in marriage to M. C. Haines,
May 20, 1896. To this Union were
born three children, two of whom
died in infancy.
Mrs. Haines was a member of the
Congregational church and of the
Pythian Sisters.
