From 1925 to 1949, he was the owner of Baur & Moss: Fuel Oil Co., Philadelphia.
Born and raised in Pittsburgh, he attended Carnegie Mellon in1912. He also attended the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
He was a member of the Benjamin Franklin Consistory 32d degree, Milner Lodge No. 287 F. & A.M and the Trinity Lutheran Church, Philadelphia. He was an avid sailor and a former member of the Ocean City Yacht Club.
Mr. Baur was the husband of the late Elsie Kuerhn Baur .
He is survived by two daughters, Marcia Kinlaw and Kathryn Waltz; a son, George A. Jr.; one sister; nine grandchildren, and seven great-granchildren.
Services were scheduled for Friday at the Trinity Lutheran Church.
Interment was to be in Whitemarsh Memorial Park, Prospectville.
