Lester Allen Marsh, Sr. Beloved husband and father, Lester A. Marsh, Sr. peacefully went home to his heavenly Father, February 1, 2001. Lester was born to Peter and Nettie Marsh on November 8, 1916, at Alva, Oklahoma, the third of four children, his brothers, Vernon and Charles, and sister, Frieda. He married Bernis Lillian Thorp on June 13, 1937, in Wenatchee, Wash., and together they had five children. Lester was an honest, hard working man devoted to his family, was active in church, enjoyed family times of music and reading, and actively supported missions. He and his wife served two years as volunteers with Wycliffe Bible Translators in Papua New Guinea. Surviving are his wife; son, L. Allen Marsh, Jr. and wife, Jane; daughter, Joyce Marie Crisman and husband Bill; daughter, Merrie Smith and husband, Richard; son, Alger Marsh and wife, Gloria; and daughter, Kathleen LaBay and husband, Richard; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and a grandson. Lester was deeply loved by his family and will be greatly missed by all. We praise God that he is in the best home of all. Services will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2001, 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Purdy and Walters at Floral Hills, 409 Filbert Rd., Lynnwood, WA 98036. Rev. Norman Overland will officiate. Visitation Monday, February 5, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and Tuesday, February 6, 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. Memorials may be sent to House of Myrrh, 24780 SW 65th Ave., Tualatin, OR 97062.
