While at Parks, he met and married his wife of 59 years, Janice L. Vonnahme, of East St. Louis, Ill. Lester left a successful career with Union Carbide Corp. in New York City, N.Y., in 1963 and built Margaretta Mobile Home Park on the Margaretta Furnace property near East Prospect. He spent many years working with heavy equipment and enjoying the outdoors maintaining the property.
Lester is survived by his wife, Janice; a sister, Jean McKinley of suburban Philadelphia; five children, Alan B. of Jacksonville, Fla., Kenneth J. of Cerritos, Calif., Louise E. Crumbling of Spring Grove, Robert L. of Hellam, and Lynn E. VanHouwe of York; and eight grandchildren, all of whom loved him and will miss him very much. He was preceded in death by a brother, Joe R. Searer.
A viewing will be held at ValleyView Alliance Church, 200 Alliance Ave., Hallam, on Saturday from 10 to 11 a.m. with a memorial service to immediately follow. Interment will be private at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to ValleyView Alliance Church Building Fund, 200 Alliance Ave., Hallam, PA 17406. John W.
