Thomas was born in Sudbury on December 3, 1679, the son of Thomas Smith and Abigail Rice. There is no record of his marriage in Sudbury, but there is a record of intention on June 3 and marriage on July 13, 1704, between Thomas Smith and Elizabeth Emins in Ipswich. If that is the record of the marriage of this Thomas, their first child was born before the marriage. That is not impossible, but it was highly frowned upon in early Massachusetts. Elizabeth Emmons, was born in 1683 in Sudbury, Massachusetts. Thomas and Elizabeth had twelve children, all born in Sudbury. There is no record of Thomas' death in Sudbury, but Thomas' will was written on March 25, 1747 and proved on February 15, 1757 in Sudbury. He was surely buried in Sudbury, probably closer to 1757.
