Born in Middletown, Conn., daughter of John and Mary (Walsh) O'Brien she had lived in Elmwood since 1943. She retired in 1972 from the former Connecticut General (Cigna) after 35 years of employment.
She was a member of the Church of St. Brigid, Elmwood, was a former member of the church's Ladies Guild and the Elmwood Acres Women's Club.
She is survived by a son Charles Beach; a daughter Janet Swift; nine grandchildren, six great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son Frederick and a daughter Sandra Unger.
