Lander-Services for George Franklin Romans, 74, will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at the Chapel of Mount Hope in the Hudson's Funeral Home with the Rev. Tim Sersen of Faith Lutheran Church officiating. Interment will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery with military graveside rites performed by Don Stough of Post 33 American Legion, Pop Agie POst 954 V.F.W. and Friday-Truan Detachment Marine Corps League.

Mr. Romans died June 3, 1995, at the Lander Valley Medical Center. He was born on Feb. 22, 1921, in McMinnville, Tenn., the son of Isaac and Mamie (McDowell) Romans.

On June 25, 1950, he married Norma Jean Stromer in Holdridge, Neb. He served during World War II in the U.S. Army. He was a member of the American Legion for 43 years. He was employed as a custodian at the Court House for 11 years, retiring in 1985. He loved to camp, fish and spend time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife; sons, * and John Romans, both of Lander; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Memorials to the George F. Romans Memorial Scholarship Fund in care of Hudson's Funeral Home, 680 Mount Hope Dr., Lander, 82520 would be appreciated by the family.

Friends may call on Monday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Hudson's Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
