Dorothy F. Reynolds, age 90, of North East, MD, and formerly of Newark, DE, passed away on Thursday, July 11, 2013 surrounded by her family at Heron's Creek Assisted Living in North East, MD. She was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Getty) Zimmer.
Dorothy is survived by her daughters, Sherry Reynolds-Macauley and her husband, Tom and Patricia L. Nichols and her husband, Randy; granddaughters, Maria Moore and Jamie Marie Snyder and her husband, Steven; and great grandchildren, Dacota Montanna Snyder, Steven Lewis Snyder Jr, Spencer Greg Snyder and Lily Ann-Marie Moore.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Allen Gainor Reynolds, and 4 sisters, Mary Currinder and her husband Robert O., Vivian Augustine, Elizabeth Zimmer and Edna Cipra and her husband Glen, and 1 brother John Zimmer and his wife Marion.
She began her career at the Continental Fiber, then moved to Gore and Associates both in Newark, De. She retired from NVF Wilmington, in 1988.
She enjoyed life to the fullest and enjoyed sewing, gardening and sitting on the front porch with family and friends.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1PM on Tuesday, July16, 2013 at St. Thomas Episcopal Church, 276 South College Ave., Newark, DE 19711. Friends and family may visit one hour prior to the service beginning 12 noon in the Great Hall at the church.
Burial will follow at Newark Cemetery.
