"On Nov. 8, 1776, Campton, New Hampshire, Benjamin Hickox enlisted in Captain Benjamin Stone’s Company of the 3rd New Hampshire Regiment. He was commissioned as a 1st Lieutenant. For 6 months, he recruited men to enlist in the 3rd New Hampshire Regiment. In June 1777, he was mustered to Ft. Ticonderoga. In June 1777, he was arrested at Ft. Ticonderoga, cashiered and deserted to the enemy."
