Marie Webb, 100 years young, went home to her Lord, Friday, March 29.
Marie was born Dec. 24, 1918, in Swain County. She was preceded in death by her parents Pearson Lambert and Minnie Maney Lambert; husband, Ronald D. Webb; son David Webb; brothers, William and Richmond Lambert; sister, Virginia Lee; son-in-law, Jon Almond; and grandson, Christopher Michael Williams. Marie worked as a fire tower operator for the State Forest Service before retiring. She had been a longtime faithful member of the Ashley Heights Baptist Church.
Marie is survived by her daughters, Emma Almond and Sylvia Simmons and husband, Jim, all of Aberdeen; grandchildren, Theresa Sanderson, Michael Almond, Karen Almond – Pile, Adam King and Brandon King; 10 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and her sister Josephine Ruhlemann, of Baltimore, Md.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, at the Ashley Heights Baptist Church, corner of N.C. 211 (Aberdeen Rd.) and Reservation Road. Deacon David Schuchard will conduct the services.
