BAXTER - Funeral services for Oscar Herren, 87, of Rt. 3 Baxter, were to be held today, June 6, at 3:30 p.m. in the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home with Bro. Albert Ward and Bro. Charles Maxwell officiating. Burial was in the Judd Cemetery.
Mr. Herren died Tues., June 5, 1984, at Cookeville General Hospital, following an extended illness.
A native of Putnam County, he was the son of the late Thomas Logan and Harriett Thomas Herren. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Mr. Herren was a retired farmer.
His family includes two daughters, Mrs Orna Henryof Cookeville and Mrs. Odell Clemons of Baxter; five sons, James, L, V,. and Arvel Herren all of Cookeville, Otis Herren of Ohio, and Charles Herren of Florida; one sister Mrs Eddie Randolph; one brother Simon Herren; one half sister, Mary Haney; fifteen grandchildren, twenty-five great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren.
