(ROANOKE) Services for Braxton Durwood "Bud" Bailey, 80, of Roanoke, will be Wednesday, Nov. 19, 2008, at 11 a.m. at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Steve Baccus officiating. Burial will follow in Randolph Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 18.

Mr. Bailey died Monday, Nov. 17, at his daughter's residence in Helena.

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Bishop Bailey of Roanoke; two daughters, Fay Bailey of Helena and Edwinna "Eddie" Hill of Auburn; three grandchildren; three sisters, Marie Bradley and Barnell Nix, both of Roanoke, and Patricia Willoughby of Atlanta; two brothers, Henry Grady Bailey Jr. and Douglas Bailey, both of Roanoke; and five great-grandchildren.

Pallbears will be Scott Green, Jeff Colquett, Teddy Alday, Randy Mickle, Phil Reeves and Jamie Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be the Men's Sunday School Class of First United Methodist Church.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Bailey was the son of Henry Grady and Ethel Meachum Bailey. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, had worked in funeral service for Quattlebaum Funeral Home for more than 50 years, was a member of Roanoke Masonic Lodge and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
