Ethelyn Morley Chapman of Moroni, Utah, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at the age of 93.

She was born May 31, 1920 in Moroni, Utah to Wilford LeRoy and Edna Olson Morley.

She was a member of the LDS Church, serving faithfully in many callings. She married Dern Chapman, November 18, 1946 in Elko, Nevada. They raised three daughters, Carolyn, Suzanne and Linda.

Ethelyn was raised in Moroni, Utah and graduated from Moroni High School. She attended and graduated from Madam Kurtz' Sewing School in Oakland, California. She worked as a seamstress at the Parachute Plant in Manti during the war. She was an accomplished seamstress, sewing her own clothes, her children and grandchildren's clothes and for many other people as well. She also worked at the Moroni Processing Plant and the Sewing Plant in Mt. Pleasant.

Ethelyn especially loved her family. She enjoyed family get-togethers and having her family come to visit. She cherished the time spent with all of her family. She also enjoyed sewing, cooking, horseback riding, fishing, camping with her family, crocheting, knitting, needlepoint and Tri-Chem painting.

Ethelyn is survived by her children, Suzanne Simons; and Linda and Gary Richards, all of Moroni. She is survived by 10 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren and 20 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dern; her daughter Carolyn Lund; her parents; two brothers; three sisters; sons-in-law, Roger Sorensen and ElRay Simons.

Services will be held Friday, July 19, 2013 at 12:00 pm in the Moroni Stake Center (82 N. Center St.). There will be a viewing prior to the service from 10 to 11:30 am. Interment will be in the Moroni City Cemetery.

The family would like to thank Autumn Park Assisted Living, their staff and Hospice. They would also like to give a special thanks to Delores Spencer for the excellent care she gave to Mother while she was still at home and for her continued loving care while she was at Autumn Park. A special thanks to Callie Blackam and Delores Spencer for the love and support they gave to Ethelyn and her family during Ethelyn's final hours.
