Matt Batts was a Major League Baseball catcher. His career spanned from 1947 through 1956, playing for the Boston Red Sox (1947–1951), St. Louis Browns (1951), Detroit Tigers (1952–1954), Chicago White Sox (1954) and Cincinnati Reds (1955–1956). In his ten-season career, he hit for an average of .269, had 26 home runs and 219 RBI in 546 games. He was also the uncle of former major league player, Danny Heep.
