A beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, died Thursday in Orangevale surrounded by her family. Born July 2, 1926 and raised in Hanson, Mass., she graduated from the University of Massachusetts, married William Sweeney in 1949 and taught school for several years before devoting herself to raising her children. She managed the family's moves across the country and, in retirement, enjoyed travels with Bill throughout the West. She is survived by her children, Katherine of Bend, Ore., Mary Mitten of Vancouver, Wash.; William of Palatine, Ill.; James of Santa Rosa and Thomas of Orangevale; seven grandchildren; sister Ruth Moreau of Port Charlotte, Fla., and brother Paul Baker of Erie, PA. Friends are welcome for visitation on Monday July 15 2013 from 3-4 PM at PRICE FUNERAL CHAPEL (6335 Sunrise Blvd, 725-2109) Funeral services will be at 10AM on Tuesday July 16 2013 at CALVARY CATHOLIC CEMETERY (7101 Verner Ave., Sacramento). In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a donation to the American Cancer Society .
