Pearl Blanche Gulbranson, age 85, of Miles City died July 13, 2005, at the Deaconess Hospital in Billings after health complications.

Pearl was born in Park Rapids, Minn., on Jan. 1, 1920, the daughter of David and Hazel (Baker) Walker. She married Raymond Mattern on July 13, 1938, in Sherwood, N.D., where they farmed. Ray died in 1958, and Pearl married Barney Gulbranson in 1964 in Miles City.

Pearl is survived by her son, Raymond (Marline) Mattern Jr. of Kirkland, Wash.; daughter, Brenda (Rich) Falconer of Helena; four brothers, Robert Walker of Mohall, N.D.; Glen Walker of Longview, Wash., George Walker of Alliance, Neb., Kenneth Walker of Salem, Ore.; four sisters, Leona Schiffman of Bothell, Wash., Florence Fulton of New Town, N.D., Marlys Hoffman of Minneapolis and Betty Mattern of Prineville, Ore.; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 17, at Stevenson & Sons Funeral Home in Miles City. Funeral services will be held on Monday, July 18, at 10 a.m. at the First Lutheran Church in Miles City. Interment will follow at the Custer County Cemetery in Miles City.
