Annie was the daughter of Andrew Jackson Smith (8 April 1850 in Hatchet Creek, Alabama - 14 July 1930 in Brown County, Texas).

Annie's mother was Anna Laura (Holly) Smith (September 1861 in Barbour County, Alabama - 1921 in Blanket, Texas).

She married George T. Moore on April 2, 1928. Sadly, he died of heart failure on January 23, 1930 at age 34. Annie is buried next to him, who was the love of her life.

She married Grady Morris on January 12, 1935 in Brownwood, Texas. She and her second husband Grady Morris adopted Billie Joe Morris (Egger) Galbraith in 1938. She was the best mother possible. She always doted on Billie and always gave her the best she had to give. No one could have been a better mother. Unfortunately Grady turned out to be a bad husband/father, and they divorced sometime in the early 1950s. She married Mr. Nall sometime around the mid to late 1950s. I can't find a marriage certificate for them. Mr. Nall's death certificate from 1974 states he was a widower so he never remarried after Annie Laura died.

She was a great seamstress, a great cook, and was a genuinely good person; loved by everyone. She was a lifelong member of Belle Plain Baptist Church in Brownwood.

Her newspaper obituary reads ~~~ Mrs. Annie Laura Smith Morris, age 57, of 1609 Waco Street, entered into eternal rest at 6:40am August 20, 1958 in a local rest home after a lengthy battle with cancer. At the time of her death she was married to Donald Nall.

Services were held in the Davis-Morris Chapel with burial in Greenleaf Cemetery. Pallbearers were Leonard Dean Smith, Benjamin Donald Smith, Eugene Smith, William Jackson Smith, Donald Stewart, and Amos Porter.

Annie was a wonderful cook and seamstress. She made most of her daughter's school clothes, recital dresses, and party dresses, and her granddaughter's baby clothes, and dresses before she became too ill to sew. She was a member of the Belle Plain Baptist Church in Brownwood and lived all of her life in Brown County.

Left to cherish her memory were her daughter, Billie, two brothers, R.C. Smith and Ben Smith, a sister, Mrs. Emma Herbert of Alice, and a grandaughter.
