Jack was a typical Heights boy who aspired to climb the Mata horn and preach the Word of God to all that would listen. A member of the Greatest Generation' that ate three pound of bananas to enlist in the Navy a few days after his 17th birthday in January 1941. He was a survivor aboard the USS West Virginia during that Day of Infamy', and proudly fought in every major Sea Battle in the Pacific Theater of Operations. He was an active member of the Pearl Harbor Survivors and the Survivors of Guadalcanal, Houston Chapter. After graduation from Baylor University he mustered with the first Billy Graham Tent Revivals as a Pastor/Counselor for the Call' and with the Navigators on those early Crusades. Some may remember his reign at the Fabulous White Way Café' on Washington Avenue, when it was a two way street in the 60's, or his endeavors as a General Contractor in the intervening years. But his passion for the finest European and traditional American Art in his latter years gave him his liveliest travels and adventures. Jack was preceded to Glory by his Father Charles and Mother Bess, his brothers Sam, Dick, Chuck, and Bob, his nephews Keith and Wayne and his wife Susie. He is survived by his brothers Jim and John Paul, his Sister Dorothy, his wife Jane and their loving families. His memory will survive with the following loved ones: Florence, Fritzi, Shirley Ann, and Wanda. His Legacy and Flair will be carried on by his adoring children Joey, Tim, Patti, Kim, Samantha, Dana, Randy, Ebon and Christopher. To be continued with his 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
