Steve Vernon Mack was born to Mattie McVea & Lembert Mack on December 30, 1953. He was called home on August 24, 2005. He attended school in the West Oso Independent School District, graduating from West Oso High School in 1972. Steve was joined in holy matrimony to Jo Ann Shelton. To this union, a baby girl was born, Antoinette J. Mack. He found the Lord at an early age. He attended Howard Payne University where he received an Associate's Degree in Theology. He attended St. John First Baptist Church under the tutelage of Rev. W. L. Pullam. He was licensed to preach on September 19, 1988. He later became the pastor of New Hope Baptist Church. He later joined Saint John Baptist Church where he served as an Associate Minister to Pastor Derrick Reaves until his death. Steve loved the Lord! He gave his life serving others. His son, Broderick Foster, preceded him in death. He is survived by his loving wife of 8 years, JoHanna Mack; his daughter, Antoinette Mack; his brother, Elvert E. Mack, all of Corpus Christi; his sister, Linda L. King of San Antonio; his uncle, Rev. Vernon Brite of Shreveport, Louisiana; his nephews, Chris (Davina) Richardson of Las Vegas, Nevada; Warren; Christen; & Chandler Mack; his niece , Janise Mack all of Corpus Christi & a host of friends & relatives who loved him dearly. Visitation will be from 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Tuesday August 30, 2005 at Seaside Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at St. John Baptist Church on Wednesday August 31, 2005 at 11:00 A.M., located on Greenwood Drive. Interment to follow at Seaside Memorial Park.
