Richard Karr, 79 of Raymondville entered into rest Monday, July 19, 2004, at a local McAllen hospital. He was born in Seminole, OK to Clarence and Nola (Northcott) Karr on October 19, 1924

Mr. Karr served in the US Army during WW II as a member of the 517th Parachute Infantry Regiment. He received a Purple Heart as a result of being wounded in the Battle of the Bulge as well as three Bronze Stars and an Expert Rifleman Badge. He had retired as a Offshore Oilrig Drilling Superintendent for Sonat Petroleum Co for over 20 years. He has lived in Japan, Saudi Arabia, Africa, and the Canary Island during his employment with Sonat. He enjoyed gun collecting, photography and spending time with his family. He will be deepy missed by all his family and friends.

Mr. Karr is survived by his son, Kenny Karr of New Smyrna Beach, FL Daughters Shirley Karr-Shaw and Terri Karr, sisters Jeanne Geran and Ramah Lee Schamerhorn, an Aunt Mrs. Ruby Day Karr and 10 grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren

Funeral services were held at Duddlesten Funeral Home with Rev Janna Sandidge of the First United Methodist Church of Raymondville officiating, Burial will flollow at Raymondville Cemetery Commital Service and Graveside Veteran Honors will be under the Auspice of American Legion #390 and VFW # 2410 of Harlingen
