NILES - LORETTA FOWLER, 68, of 526 Russell Avenue, passed away at 8:01 a.m. Monday, March 12, 2007, at Hospice House in Poland, after a lengthy illness.

She was born on June 8, 1938, in Olive Hill, Kentucky, the daughter of George and Grace Black Nickell.

She retired from General Motors as a press operator in 2002 after 27 years of service. She was of the Protestant faith and was a member of the Army and Navy Garrison Post 252 and AMVETS 106.

Loretta loved to entertain and be with family and friends, and especially enjoyed time spent with her grandchildren. She enjoyed the outdoors, gardening and her flowers that she grew from seed.

She is survived by her son, Larry (Leah Ward) Clark of Niles; grandchildren Christine DeJute and Jeremy Clark, both of Niles; one great-grandchild; and a sister, Madeline Nickell of Morehead, Kentucky.

Calling hours will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, March 14, 2007, at the Holloway-Williams Funeral Home, 611 Robbins Avenue, Niles. Services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, March 15, 2007, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Dr. Bernard Oakes officiating. Burial will be in Kerr Cemetery.
