Annette Herring Holton

PAVO -- Annette Herring Holton, 62, died Friday, Sept. 5, 2003, at Colquitt Regional Medical Center.

Services ...held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 13, at Mother Easter Baptist Church with Elder Herbert Herring officiating. Burial...followed in Reedy Creek Cemetery in Pavo. Active pallbearers ...Elzie J. Herring, Everette L. Herring, Perry Barnhill, Alfonso Swain, Jeremiah Arrington and Homer Williams. Honorary pallbearers,,, Elven Herring, Herman Herring, Theodore Herring, Melvin H. Smith, Willie Frank Herring Jr. and Carlton Herring.

Born Oct. 16, 1940, in Pavo, Mrs. Holton was the daughter of the late Willie Frank and Susie P. Herring. At an early age she joined St. James C.M.E. Church in Pavo. In April 1999 she moved her membership to Shady Grove M.B. Church in Pavo. On Oct. 23, 1976, she married Raymond Holton of Moultrie. This is where they made their home together.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond Holton; a stepson, Ezekiel Holton, Moultrie; two godchildren, Suwana Hall, Moultrie, and Anthony T. Barber Jr., Pavo; six brothers, Melvin H. Smith (Janie), Georgetown, S.C., Herman Herring, Moultrie, Theodore Herring (Stella) and Willie Frank Herring Jr. (Carolyn), Delray Beach, Fla., Elder Herbert Herring (W. Renee), Pavo, and Carlton Herring (Ezzetta), Inglewood, Calif.; three sisters, Willie Mae Bryant, New York, N.Y., Pearline Bean (C.J.), Pavo, and Jannette Brown, Quitman; uncles and aunts, Andrew Herring, Geneva, N.Y., Elven Herring (Christine), Thomasville, Corine Linzey, Piscataway, N.Y., Rosa Lee Herring, Moultrie, and Mary Griffin, Valdosta; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Ethel Pittman (J.C.), Wyvomia Madison, Amos Holton (Shirley), Moultrie, Allen Riggins, Olden Riggins (Lillian), St. Petersburg, Fla., and Rufus Stokes, Inglewood, Calif.; seven children whom she cherished as her own, Ernest J. Bean, Pavo, Eric A. Brown, Quitman, Herbert T. Herring Jr., Hahira, Patricia Hall, Moultrie, Pearline D. Barber, Pavo, Tereasa M. Shaw, Greenwood, S.C., and Karina Joyce Bean, Hurlburt Field, Fla.; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
