Lenora B. ‘Nonie' Crawford

Lenora B. "Nonie" Crawford, 80, died Monday, March 3, 2003, at her residence in Indianapolis.

She was born Sept. 21, 1922, in Indianapolis. Her parents were Ernest R. and Alva Ora (Smithe) Brown. She married William "Bill" Crawford on Oct. 17, 1942. He survives. Other survivors include a daughter, Sally A. DeVoe of Alexandria; a brother, Edward E. Brown of Indianapolis; three grandchildren; and one great-grandson. She was preceded in death by a son, William W. Crawford Jr.; and two sisters, Helen Niewerth and Ruth Schock.

She was a 1940 graduate of Arsenal Technical High School.

She was a homemaker.

She was a 50-year member of Greenwood United Methodist Church and an honorary life member of Tri Kappa sorority.

The Revs. Ann Hutchins-Case and Bill Hoopes will conduct a celebration of life service at 1 p.m. Saturday at Greenwood United Methodist Church.
