Irene Adelia Ana (Fisbeck) Heimer, 93, of Holyoke was born March 30, 1917 in Daykin, Nebraska to August and Rosie (Schropfer) Fisbeck. She died October 4, 2010 in Holyoke at Melissa Memorial Hospital.
Irene's funeral was scheduled for Thursday, October 7 at 2 p.m. at Zion Lutheran Church in Holyoke.
In 1927 she moved with her parents, two sisters and one brother to a farm near Holyoke.
She met Glenn Heimer and on Thanksgiving Day, November 26, 1936, they were married and made their home on a farm southwest of Holyoke. They were married for 66 years before Glenn's death in June of 2003. Four daughters were born to this union: Rosalie, Shirley, Glenda and LaRae. In 1975 Glenn and Irene moved from the farm into Holyoke.
Irene's passion in life was raising her four girls. She enjoyed working side by side with her husband Glenn, raising cattle and many other farm animals. Her hobbies included quilting, playing musical instruments, gardening, canning and helping out at her church.
Irene was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn; parents; two sisters; one brother; three brothers-in-law; and two sisters-in-law.
Irene is survived her daughters, Rosalie Stone of Aurora, Shirley Schmidt and husband Leslie of Rawlins, Wyoming, Glenda Bauer and husband Michael of Cincinnati, Ohio and LaRae Hethcote and husband Tom of Holyoke; grandchildren Rodney Schmidt and wife Talli, Scott Schmidt and wife Darlette, Nathan Stone and wife Kathy, Todd Bauer and wife Elizabeth, Vania (Stone) Lively, Andrea Stone, Thad Bauer and wife Joye, Daniel Stone, Trevor Hethcote and Kasie Smith and husband Mike; great grandchildren Zachary and Kaitlyn Schmidt, Devon and Kelsey Schmidt, Emily, Mitchell, Elijah, Madison and Seth Stone, Sidney, Conner and Jacob Bauer, Amanda and Nicole Bauer and Jack Smith; and numerous nephews, nieces and friends.
