Frederick Charles Thomas passed away on June 4, 2010, peacefully in his home while surrounded by family and friends. He fought a valiant battle until he finally succumbed to complications from Parkinson's Disease.

Fred was born on May 19, 1938 in Rock Springs, Wyoming to parents Sidney and Cecilia (Kershisnik) Thomas. He served in the Air Force from 1959-1963. In 1964, he joined the City of Glendale as a Firefighter where he served for twenty-nine years until his
retirement in 1993.

In 1968 he moved to the Santa Clarita Valley where he raised all of his twelve children. Fred loved to take his family camping and enjoyed traveling. His hobbies included steam locomotives and going to air shows. As the years continued Fred and Rose Ann became grandparents to twenty-four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Some of Fred's best memories were those that he spent with his grand-children watching cartoons and playing games.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Rose Ann and his beloved sister Judith Pfeifer and his adoring children: Kimberlee Dodd (Jim Hall), Frederica Rumph, Brian (Chris) Winsick, Todd Winsick, Sidney Thomas (Theresa Mattson), Georgia (Ken) Nelson, Wendy Mitchell, Denis
(Linda) Winsick, Rita (Tom) Hood, Glenn Winsick, Billy Thomas and Ricky Thomas.

A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Clare Catholic Church Saturday, June 12, at 1:00pm, with burial to follow in the Veterans' section of Eternal Valley Cemetery. A reception will follow at St. Clare Church.
