In March 1861 David Uriah Fox organized a company of men from Catoosa Co., GA to join the Confederate Army. Two of his brothers, Richard Haney Fox and Cicero Fox, also joined this company. David was elected Lt. and later elected Caption of this company, Co. F, 39th GA Inf.
In May 1864 at the Battle of Resaca, GA., David received a serious leg wound which resulted in his death.
