Funeral services for Joanne Marie Evans of Brookhaven are 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 13, at Brookhaven Funeral Home on Natchez Drive, with burial in St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church Cemetery.

Visitation is Friday from 5 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home.

Mrs. Evans, 57, died July 10, 2013 at King's Daughters Medical Center. She was born in Brookhaven on Aug. 2, 1955.

She was a grocery store manager and a member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. She loved fishing, camping, riding on the back of a Harley, cooking, gardening, music, dancing and grilling out. She spent most of her life in Maryland and loved crabbing off of a pier and boating.

Preceding her in death were her daughter, Hope Smith, and Brother, Michael Abbott.

Survivors are her parents, John Demico and Margaret Johnson; daughter, Janice Smith; sister, Janet Seidl; and two grandchildren, Corey Smith and Peyton Byers.
