KENDALLVILLE — Tracy S. Yates, age 49, of Kendallville, died unexpectedly early Sunday morning, July 7, 2013, at his home.

Tracy was born in Kendallville on July 25, 1963, to Donald Yates and Lora (Wallen) Kurtz. His father preceded him in death.

He graduated from East Noble High School in 1982 and he married Tonya Sue Weber on June 8, 1985, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Avilla.

Tracy was employed with Graphic Packaging in Kendallville for the past 15 years.

He loved fishing, karaoke, fireworks and traveling with Tonya.

His granddaughter, Samarah, was the "apple of his eye" and he was very proud of all of his family.

Tracy was very creative and he could build and fix anything.

Survivors include his wife, Tonya Yates of Kendallville; two daughters, Lyndee Yates of Kendallville and Kristin Yates of Fort Wayne; a granddaughter, Samarah Mears of Kendallville; his mother, Lora and Larry Kurtz of Orland; five brothers, William and Julie Yates of Kendallville, Bart and Bonnie Yates of Kelso, Washington, Phil and Jody Yates of Logansport, Gradis Yates of Kendallville and Tim and Tracy Yates of Kendallville; two sisters, Angie Easterday of Kendallville and Jackie and Mark Feller of LaGrange; two sisters-in-law, Sherry and Gale Berning of Kendallville and Angie Weber and Arthur Stacy both of Kendallville; a brother-in-law, Todd and Angie Weber of Albion; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Wednesday, July 10, 2013, from 2-8 p.m. at Hite Funeral Home in Kendallville.

Funeral services will be Thursday, July 11, 2013, at 11 a.m. at Hite Funeral Home.

Burial will be at Christian Chapel Cemetery in Merriam, Indiana.

Preferred memorials may be made to the American Red Cross, Riley Hospital for Children or the Ronald McDonald House.

Casketbearers will be his brothers, Bill, Phil, Bart, Gradis and Tim, and a nephew, Trevor.
