JAMES SULLIVAN HUBBLE PASSES AWAY SUNDAY

James Sullivan Hubble, son of Eli and Sarah Hubble, was born in Zif Township, September 14, 1884. He grew to manhood in the community of his birth and was united in marriage with Lela Kerr, October 30, 1904. Three daughters were born to this union. His life work has been that of a farmer and he was one of the highly respected and substantial citizens of his community. He was industrious and active in his own affairs but was never too busy to lend a helping hand to a neighbor or friend and was always interested in the affairs of his community, taking an active part in any movement for the upbuilding and betterment of his country and neighborhood.

For many years he has been a member of Elm River Lodge No. 855 I.O.O.F. He united with the Zif Christian Church under the ministry of the Rev. John Galvin when a young man and has lived a faithful consistent Christian life, serving his congregation in the capacity of deacon for many years. He was a faithful companion to his wife, an affectionate and considerate father, a kind and obliging neighbor and friend.

He entered into rest, following a short illness of acute pneumonia, at his home near Enterprise, Sunday evening, April 26, 1936, age 51 years, 7 months and 12 days.

He is survived by his faithful companion - his wife Lela, three daughters; Ethel Hoffee of Fairfield, Zelma at home and Eula Barrett of Carbondale, four grandchildren, two brothers, Sherman and Scott, one sister Elizabeth Gill, a number of other relatives and a large circle of friends and acquaintances, who will mourn his passing.

Funeral services were conducted from the Evangelical Church in Enterprise Tuesday afternoon by Elder W. D. Crippin. Interment was in the Maple Hill cemetery in Fairfield.
