Shannon Dale Bishop, 62, of Stamford, went to be with his heavenly father on July 9, 2013. He loved and lived for the Stamford Bulldogs, Dallas Cowboys, Texas Rangers, Texas Longhorns, Stamford Fire Department and all his Family and friends. Funeral services celebrating Shannon's life will be held 10:00 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2013 at First Baptist Church with Drs. Bruce Lampert and Jacob West officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memorial Cemetery under the direction of Kinney-Underwood Funeral Home in Stamford. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. Friday evening, July 12, 2012 at the funeral home.

Shannon Dale Bishop was born on February 4, 1951 in Stamford, the son of Enis Bishop and Charlene (Leach) Bishop. He married Cheryl Scifres on May 7, 1988 in Stamford. Shannon spent all of his life in Stamford, starting out helping his father as an electrician's assistant for Bishop Electric and later operating the Dice Ice Company in Stamford. Among Shannon's greatest passions in life were his devotion to the Stamford Bulldogs, and the Stamford Volunteer Fire Department. He was always seen helping out the Bulldog Booster Club, preparing the meal with the tailgate crew before all of the football games. It was known that Shannon Bishop loved all of the high school sports. He was a member of First Baptist Church.

Preceding Shannon in death were his father, Enis Bishop; great nephew, Ethan McKay Grantham; and aunt and uncle Grace and Buddy Bishop.

Family surviving Shannon are his mother, Charlene Bishop of Stamford; son, Curtis Bishop of Stamford; daughter, Melanie Bishop of Abilene; wife, Cheryl Bishop of Hamlin; sister and brother in law, Mitzi and Randy Grantham of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; aunt, Jean Weaver of Hamlin; brothers in law, Claud Scifres of Pampa, Ray Scifres of Hamlin; mother in law, Dorothy Scifres of Hamlin; seven nephews; one niece; four great nephews; one great niece; and several cousins and countless friends.
