Susan is the daughter of Dr. William H and Dorothy (Long) Thompson. She married Warren Edward Buffett in April 1952 in Omaha, Nebraska. Together they had three children, Howard, Susie and Peter Buffett. Susan was a Berkshire Hathaway Investment Director, and Forbes Magazine listed her the 60th richest woman with a personal net worth of 3.1 Billion dollars. She died from a stroke at age 72 at West Park Hospital in Cody, Wyoming while she and Warren were there visiting friends.Humanitarian and champion of civil rights, reproductive health and AIDS awareness. Wife of billionaire Warren Buffett. A jazz afficionado with a beautiful voice, she sang from her teen years in church and eventually, at age 45 after raising her children, moved to San Francisco to realize her dream of becoming a singer. She performed in New York, recorded a number of CDs, performed at The News/Albright Knox Jazz Series and at the Calumet, under her maiden name, Susie Thompson. Bono, U2 lead singer and personal friend, who shared her interest in AIDS awareness sang at her funeral. Died of a stroke while visiting friends with her husband.

Gravesite Details

Susan was cremated and interred privately at Forest Lawn in Omaha. Her burial place will not be made public probably until Warren passes away.
