MOODY, Ala. — Mrs. Bertha C. Medders, 87, of Moody, formerly of Valley, died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2005 at Baptist Medical Center Montclair in Birmingham, Ala.
Funeral services are scheduled Wednesday, Nov. 16 at 11 a.m. at Fairfax First Baptist Church in Valley with the Rev. Steve York officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Cemetery in Lanett.
Mrs. Medders is survived by one daughter, Toni (David) Hill of Moody; three sisters, Eva Pigg, Faye Knowles and Ruth Yates, all of Valley; one brother, Robert W. (Henrietta) Chambley of Valley; three grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Born June 23, 1928 in Valley, Mrs. Medders was the daughter of the late Claudie Hightower Chambley and Frank Chambley. She was a retired employee of West Point Pepperell’s Fairfax Mill. Mrs. Medders loved music, reading and was a big Auburn University fan. She enjoyed helping with weddings and arranging flowers. Mrs. Medders was a member of Fairfax First Baptist Church.
Flowers will be accepted.
The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the Johnson Brown-Service Funeral Home in Valley.
