Funeral services for Mr. Eugene Cecil Griffith will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 15, 2013 in Pine Prairie Church of Christ with Brothers Johnathon Johnson and Robert Johnson officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in Ferguson Cemetery, Bayou Chicot under the direction of Rush Funeral Home, Pine Prairie.
Mr. Griffith, 87, of Pine Prairie, entered eternal rest on Thursday, July 11, 2013 in his residence with his loving family by his side.
Eugene Cecil was a United States Navy Veteran. He was an educator and principal for thirty years. After retirement he was a nurseryman for thirty years. He loved people. The world is sadder for his loss and he will be greatly missed.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Griffith; his parents, Ashton and Allie Griffith and one sister, Edith Nugent.
Those left to mourn his loss and cherish his memory include one son, Scott Griffith and his wife, Amy of Stonewall; two daughters, Ramona Griffith Cutrer and her husband, Paul of Amite and Charmaine Griffith of Sumter, South Carolina; two sisters, Delores Steadman and her husband, Wayne of Boyce and Polly LeBlanc and her husband, Al of Sandestin, Florida; four grandchildren, Allie Griffith, Alayna Griffith, Ellen Bock and Ben Cutrer and three great grandchildren, Amelia Bock, Hayden Cutrer and Hudson Cutrer.
