WINNIFRED MARTENS, 80, died Saturday at the Wilton Nursing Home. Services will be held Tuesday at the Lacock Funeral Home. The Rev. James Rehenkamp will officiate. Burial will be in the Oakdale Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Bloomington Friends Church of Muscatine. The daughter of Thomas and Anne Gill Gritton, she was born July 24, 1903, in Cedar County. Her marriage to Edward Martens took place Dec. 27, 1922, in Davenport. She had resided at the Colonial Manor Nursing Home, Columbus Junction, for the past 13 years. Survivors include one son, Richard of New Providence; four daughters Mrs. Evelyn Simester, Mrs. George (Phyllis) Freeland and Mrs. William (Gaylene) Holladay, all of Wilton, and Mrs. Gerald (Beverly) Oepping of Durant; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Clarence Gritton of Tipton. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1975, one infant son, two brothers, two sisters and two great-grandchildren.
