Born 1 March 1926 in Saint Peter, MN; John was the only child born to of Dare A. & Lucille B. (Paquette) Rosemeyer. John served in the US Navy during WW-II; enlisting 10 February 1944, he underwent basic training at USN Training Center, Miami, FL.

On 8 December 1944, John was part of the commissioning crew (a "plankowner") of the USS Tetonkaha (AOG-41) a Mettawee-class gasoline tanker -- on it's first cruise from Marine Basin in Brooklyn, NY. The ship was named after a river in South Dakota. On 1 August 1945, he was promoted to Signalman 3rd Class (SM3) while still on the Tetonkaka.

On 1 April 1946, he was assigned to the Light Cruiser, USS San Diego (CL-53) just prior to his release from active duty. USS San Diego was the second most decorated US ship of World War II, being awarded 18 battle stars, and was the first major Allied warship to enter Tokyo Bay after the surrender of Japan.

On 15 Feb 1947, John Allen married Jo Ann Clara Green at Saint Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church in Minneapolis, MN; she was age 19, he was 20. Jo Ann Clara was the third of six children born to Waldon Joseph & Regina H. (Braun) Green, Sr..

John Allen died at age 41.
