Marie Hodge McGee passed away July 6, 2013 in Bakersfield, California, at the age of 93. She was born March 20, 1920 in Mounds, Oklahoma, the daughter of Troy Allen and Belva Maxwell Hodge. She attended school in Oklahoma, married C.E. "Dutch" Wilcher, and gave birth to three children, Jacquita (Jackie), Trent and Treva. The family moved to California, eventually settling in Coalinga, California. In 1958 she married Fred Potter McGee, better known as "Fibber McGee" and a few years later they were transferred by Standard Oil Company to Fresno, California where she lived until July, 2011. At that time she moved to Bakersfield, Ca to be nearer to her daughter. While living in Coalinga, she became a cake decorator and provided beautiful cakes for many special occasions. While in Fresno, she went back to school and earned her LVN license. Her favorite hobby was collecting Carnival Glass, specializing in Millersburg Glass. She wrote and published a book on the subject titled "Millersburg Glass, As I Know It", and was widely recognized as a collector and authority on the subject. She also enjoyed crocheting and gardening. She was predeceased by her father, mother, one sister, Bettie Wilcher and one brother, "Bud" Hodge, as well as her first husband Clarence "Dutch" Wilcher; and her second husband, Fred "Fibber" McGee. She is survived by daughter, Jacquita (Jackie) Chaffin Charles and Jesse of Johnson, Kansas; son, Trent Wilcher and Anna of Pineland, Texas; and daughter, Treva Elliott and Jim, of Bakersfield, California. She had nine grandchildren, Patricia Carrillo & David, Rebecca Paris, Michael Gentry and Kimm, Brenda Chaffin, Tracy Schmid, Lora Irwin and Stu, Alana Gentry and Bobby, Sandra Post and Steve, and Shannon Morris and Steve. She leaves 18 great grandchildren and 16 great, great grandchildren. She was very proud of her grandchildren.
