d/o Thomas and Margaret Hulings(Hulins) Bliss
wife of Edward Foster (m. 26 Dec 1661, Springfield, MA)
Originally buried in the Old Burying Ground, Springfield, MA, she was re-interred in 1848 to the Springfield Cemetery, Springfield, MA
The account book kept by John Pynchon, Esq. at Boston showed that Hester agreed to serve him one year for four pounds sterling, and that she commenced her service with him Nov 1, 1658. Mr Pynchon paid on her account at Boston two pounds to the "pinnace master" which would indicate that she had then lately arrived from England, and that the sum due was the balance due for her passage. However, Winthrop's medical journal refers to Hester in 1661: Hester, daughter of Widow Bliss of Springfield she is like her sister that died last winter". In 1666 he wrote: Hester Foster wife of Edward of Springfield, daughter of Widow Bliss of Springfield, sister of Elizabeth Bliss 26. They were twins, thus the reference is first made to Hester's mother, Margaret, then to Hester's sister, Hannah. Hannah who had died 1661 Jan 25 and Elizabeth to in 1666 was 26 years of age.
